Carol & the end of the world

A beautifully shot, acted, and written tale about people set at the end of the world, it's a limited series that offers a serene take on an apocalypse and what it means to be alive. I don't know if you'll cry, but you will definitely laugh, think, and find a bit of inner peace, if only for a moment.

re-upping this rec now that the series finale dropped: this show is a masterpiece. i often see asks on here along the lines of "how do i stay hopeful in the face of the destruction of the world around me," and i am not shitting you at all when i say that - for well over a year now - this show and its ideas have been an enormous part of how i still find it in myself to have hope despite it all.
it is a dark, brutal show, but its brutality exists to underscore the show's absolutely unshakable faith in the indomitability of the human spirit, the fragility of tyranny, and the revolutionary power of love. do not get scared away by the "star wars" of it all - if you have ever struggled to stay the course when faced with the weight of the world's horrors, you absolutely need to watch this show. it tells a timeless story that is essential for our time.
