Was looking for a place that had cute vintage frames that would also put my prescription in. Found fashioneyewear.com which kind of sounds like a dropshipper but in fact mailed me vintage Burberry frames, with prescription, from the UK, in under two weeks and well under a hundred bucks. And yeah I am hoping this kick starts my charlotte york phase

I hate wearing glasses. I got these for a steal and I love the ornate detailing on them. my prescription is so bad that last time I got my eyes checked the glasses saleslady basically laughed at me when I said I wanted wire frame because the lenses have to be so thick that they need a thicker frame to house them. So these are still delicate and lightweight metal on the sides, with nice MATTE plastic.
I would completely recommend buying designer and looking for a good deal especially if you’re only planning on having one pair; I think they just look more refined and unique. I got these from GlassesUSA on clearance for $65 USD but I don’t know what the equivalent site would be for the UK.
Consider looking for vintage frames maybe too and taking them in to get lenses made for them?

😎Maybe this isn’t news to everyone like it was for me - there’s companies that will take any glasses frame you send to them and slap in some perscription lenses. While I haven’t sent a pair in just yet, it’s not from a lack of wanting it… I’m busy aggregating all the sunnies I own, and buying a few cheap pairs I’ve heard good things about (shoutout the x kds & the Oakley Eyejacket Tyler specials) to get my perfect pair.

my actual rec for getting started if you’re overwhelmed would be to take a class. I made an easy apron and had the teacher walk me through the steps + following the pattern. and then I had the confidence to go crazy mode on my own

Was inspired by title cards in an almodovar movie a year ago and spent almost that amount of time getting supplies, creating the photo emulsions, developing a screen, and then making actual prints…. ive only got these 4 little guys to show for it right now but I’m so proud of myself and I recommend it as a hobby!! Having the time oml in my tiny apt kitchen
