Directed by Mika Ninagawa, it's a japanese horror movie about fame and beauty. The protagonist serves so much cunt and the aesthetics are just incredible.
watched this a week ago with my friends and i have thought of it truly every day since. major, major content warnings, but if it ends up being something youβre in the right zone for, itβs unbelievable. never seen something handle so much pain with so much tact. looking forward to seeing a lot more Gregg Araki β€οΈ
Titane (2021) β For car fetishists and David Cronenberg lovers and possibly no one else (and if you like it, also watch Crash!) Tetsuo the Iron Man (1989) β Short and relentless little stop motion movie. I made the critical mistake of eating rice during my first watch (do not do this!!!) Knife + Heart (2018) β neo-giallo + just so so good
saw natural born killers last night after seeing someone recommend it here, and HOLY SHIT THIS MOVIE WAS INCREDIBLE. it was a cinematic feast with the music video style shots, the animated cuts, the black and white frames, the neon green drug store portion, and the whole sitcom sequence. genius editing and cinematography. there is clearly the entire notion of the American media glorifying serial killers and giving them so much importance that it can almost be seen as them being embraced. but i'm sure the commentary runs deeper, for which i'd need to rewatch the film, i was too focused on the abso-fucking-lutely terrific stylistic choices this time. also why tf was woody harrelson looking so hot in this geez 20/10 WOULD RECOMMEND
