okay so halloweekend is over but i’m still surfing the high of successfully pulling off my costume in the final hour. me and my boyfriend were like lets do the sonic youth goo cover cos we already have all the clothes/accessories we’d need which makes it nice and low maintenance. we then proceeded to spend like three full days gluing months worth of packaging and trash together to make a ludicrously large cutout sign which we finished painting like ten minutes before we left for a party. i slit my thumb open in the process and we had to fork out extra cash for an uber XL. low maintenance my ass!!!! anyways i feel like an album cover is such a fun take on a costume. next year i wanna do negro swan by blood orange.

Dress for yourself, not the crowd. I wore this vintage 70s pink floaty cape with pearl appliqués for the Charli XCX Crash tour and despite food poisoning I still had a blast. I wore my huge clown sweater to see Bar Italia and was the most colorful person in the crowd but felt very much myself. For JPEG/Danny Brown I wore my sonic shirt and mary jane’s and got a lot of compliments on my shoes and was not tempted to go into the mosh pit which worked in my favor. Sometimes I tone it down with colors for smaller local shows, last pic is one of my favorite jumpers that has a ton of pockets so it’s great for concerts. Just be comfortable and feel comfortable and you will be immune to wondering if others around you think you’re cool. My husband and I are going to bladee in october and will no doubt be surrounded by teenagers so I may just bust out the pantsuit for that show.

was so so sad last night and found myself at the movies. started sobbing the moment i sat in the chair for reasons entirely unrelated to the film (although it was very sad). kind of relished in it though bc the cinema unlike buses/trains/cafes is like the only public space where you wont be scorned for crying. its the only acceptable place outside of the comfort of your home for you to sit down and have a good wail because everyone will think ur crying about the movie and no one will judge u.

a punk rock road movie by gregg araki about a couple that pick up a drifter. weirdness and chaos ensue. impeccable soundtrack and the costuming was waaaay ahead of its time. its like challengers on crack. one of my favourite flicks and was my teenage gateway into cool girl underground films. be warned though it gets pretty violent at times!
