Nah I see y’all liking & subbing without recommending anything, that’s fine. Let me give you a starting point: (All of this is to taste btw) - Lemon juice, fresh or bottled idc - Honey - Hot water - Bourbon or whiskey, preferably japanese Take some honey & lemon juice and pour it into a container, then slowly add some hot water to it; it'll make a syrup. I bottle and store this for more uses. Pour some into a glass, and then pour in your bourbon (Noah’s Mill for me) or whiskey (Nikka Days for me) of choice until it looks right. Mix it up. Add ice. Enjoy 2-3. Be warm and cozy and fall asleep on the couch. Edit: oh yeah add bitters, a few little droplets. Add them in whenever your heart desires you to.

Basically a scotch old fashioned mashed with a whiskey sour, the Mark Twain is a deliciously tart and refreshing drink to mix things up when you’re sick of your more typical sours. To make the MT even cooler, it's named after a legendary author, with a story dating back to a letter Twain wrote his wife, talking about his love for this cocktail — drinking it regularly 3 times a day while in London (perhaps this is some insight into his creative process? You tell me…).I'd recommend going with freshly squeezed lemons, 2 oz of scotch, a little lighter on the simple syrup (a quick squeeze) and a little heavier on the bitters (~6 - 8 dashes for me) for the pi approved ratio™.

Crown Royal vanilla and Jim Beam vanilla are the go-tos, but it can be hard to come by at bars. So any bourbon or rye whiskey is usually fine by me. Always neat, unless it’s well, then I’m gonna need some ice to water it down a smidge b4 I down the glass.

Neat if you really like the taste of whiskey like I do, or you can just pour it over an ice cube or even mix with soda I really like Bulleit Rye, Makers Mark, Wild Turkey 101 or Johnnie Walker Black. It’s not very fussy and strong enough to let you water it down and sip over time

florinegrassenhopper riotgrrrl brendanooooo slowdazzle buck_mcgraw and indianjones — we did it. Not only did we successfully meet for drinks, but we also schemed the hostile takeover of this app from tyler tonight. In all seriousness — weird that an app I downloaded in April would make genuinely want to drive back into Brooklyn during end of day traffic for a happy hour. Great app filled with great people.

I feel like there’s a special connectivity on this app that I haven’t felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010’s tumblr. The fact that you can’t promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isn’t mass video content like Tik Tok is great. It’s not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup). Thanks for your participation on this niche little app. I smile reading all the recs and all the comments and all the asks. Hope we’ll all be here for a long time.

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. It’s made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love. I just never thought I’d feel the same way about URL friends. I’m constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed. It’s nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. I’m going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
