Maria Zardoya is effortlessly cool and so sweet with her fans. My favorite memory this year was attending the Submarine tour in Chicago. She sang "Otro Atardecer" to my baby sister for her birthday. She almost blacked out, and so did I. Can you blame us?
If you like queer/sapphic artists with an 80ās synthpop vibe, a metric fuckton of energy and stage presence, and pipes for days (with a couple soulful ballads tossed in), youāre in for a treat Iāve been a fan since summer of 2017 when I saw a random video on twitter of her singing fly me to the moon, and Iām so so happy that more and more people are getting on board with her lately! I was on a google meet call with her and about 30 fans last night and it was such a blastāeveryone is so cool and sweet and Maris is as incredible a person as she is an artist š Photos are of her most recent DC show in March, the pic we took then, and the pic we were recreating from her DC show in March of 2023 :)
I don't knowĀ if she sings out in public much but if she does you Ā should go and witness it. Ā a remarkable lyricist and most of all someone who will join forces with you (the audience) to make you and her one in song, your identity becomes the song, shared with her. Ā the recordings are strong but even looking for live performances on youtube are shed and holders above anything from a recording studio.it's like (and I'm not saying it is, just saying it's like) she can't wait to leave her body and leap up and out into musical existence.
sheās a once in a generation phenomenon. if im being honest i wasnāt that excited to go to the concert cause i went alone and its my third time seeing her but god. i dont listen to her music as much anymore because i just dont think its good for me to feel so much all the time but i used to listen to her a lot when things got rough. i didnāt even do my usual āconcert prepā this time (listening to some of the artistās work/setlist before the concert). but it was so good. brought me back to the way life felt before and yet i could observe safely from a distance. she played thursday girl briefly and i almost cried. she played some songs in a different arrangement (i dont smoke turned country) and it was a hit. life is so beautiful
Itās almost criminal that Iām just now watching this show, considering how much I love anime thrillers! Iām on layer: 08 (episode 8) ā donāt tell me what happens next!ššš
Iāve loved thrifting and vintage since I was young, and while Iām not a perfect sustainable fashionista, I try! I also really enjoy the cultural commentary and policy coverage ā theyāre so helpful for a girl with an environmental reporter beat and a passion for eco-fashion.
