I saved one of the songs from this album a while back and thought they sounded familiar and I remembered checking out their old album a couple years ago and having a bit of hype around it. This album was self released and to little fanfare but I checked out this album today and was really enjoying it. Worth a listen!

Ok not only is their name a lovely reminder of the much loved character Tom, BUT this album evokes some of that same sunny magic. Cheerful. Energetic. Folk sounds mixed with digital. Good stuff.

This album was released in 2012 and I have not listened to this band since then, but interestingly enough they came to mind when reading your ask. Good vibes all around!

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
