Y'all, do not sleep on this place. This is literally eating a 5 star meal on a college student budget (I guess you just have to figure out how to get to Ecuador).
I was on a week long trip to Quito and was recommended to grab a bite here, I went 4 times in total during my trip and still dream about the food. They have an incredible ceviche (Ceviche Manaba) which has this peanut sauce that is absolutely to die for. On top of it they have a lunch menu where you get two plates and a glass of wine.
I would plan a trip to Ecuador again just for this restaurant.

not recently. best hands down best Ethiopian food I’ve had. CherCher in DC. it’s been a staple MUST HAVE while on tour and when I’m in DC.
I think about this place so often. The vegan deluxe plate with a side of salmon tibs and a bottle of honey wine (when eating with friends)
One friend has said that this would be her death row meal.
I’ve considered some days flying from LA to DC juuuust to get a plate of this. Although I had decent ethiopian out here it can’t measure up to this spot.
Very home cooked and family owned. Also Michelin star rated for 3 years.

This is the #1 restaurant that has held me down all these years of living in NYC. I can’t recommend just one dish because in all honesty, everything is great! I never had a bad meal here! It warms my heart when I walk by on a weekend and see the cheery interior packed with people, let’s keep diners and luncheonettes alive!
