This is an album that is one of my favorites, but I really only revisit at momentous times. With the election just passed, and everyone freaking out in one way or another, what could be better than the looming horns of the opening track, or the anxious cyclicality of “Don’t Let it Happen Here?”

Sometimes, if my cat really wants my attention, he‘ll grab my leg loosely and bite me, where it hurts for a bit but leaves no mark nor blood. It’s not quite fun- but I think it serves a meaningful place in life
