a few years ago a student at my flight school didn’t turn the ignition fully off on his plane and pushed it back into its parking spot after a flight. at first without issue, but unfortunately, the next morning when he came back to take it up, he started his pre flight routine while one of the mags was still hot and when he slightly pushed the propeller he turned it ON. so as it goes, tragically, his head got swiped clean off… 🩸he was found by a nearby mechanic face down bleeding out that morning on the pavement. so all to say, a very minor thing you forget to do in a dangerous job can easily become fatal and disastrous, so this is just a reminder/recommendation to double check every box when lives are potentially on the line.

First of all the key is to not get hit. That way nothing bad actually happens to you, it just almost does. Works best if it‘s not your fault— good reason to get pissed off, great story to tell when you get home, etc. You’ll find this has actually happened to a lot of people

My car stalled bc of a leak in the tire as I was driving to my musculoskeletal system practical exam😨😨😨😨😨 I forced it back to life to make it, frantic, but just in time to head to the anatomy lab. However, I missed sign in time by 10 mins. And a photo of the tire pressure reader with a time stamp⏰⏰ was not enough to convince Becky, the person in charges of excused absences, that I didn’t make up this elaborate tale and almost fail my entire class and have to do the entire first year of med school all over again, for fun.🤣🤣🤣 So she said I need to have a receipt for proof of the car being repaired by 24 hours from the time of the exam. Except Becky, not sure you realized that your informed me of this after 5pm, when most places had closed. Also, I was going to have somebody come to my apartment, so that I didn’t have to risk my life driving on the rubbery object that used to be my tire. Also, I had a Halloween party to attend🎃🎃🎃 But Becky wouldn’t budge.🗿🗿🗿🗿 Fast forward the 24 hours, I now have a brand new tire and an approved excused absence🥳🥳 Another near death experience under my belt, I guess.

Been off this app lately cuz ive been busy opening an art gallery in my hometown (San Diego) called Deixis Gallery! Been such a wonderful experience so far. It’s so beautiful to see how community comes together to help with every step along the way. Friends came by and helped paint, do construction, a friend of mine built us some benches from scratch, and a bunch of amazing artists participated in the inaugural exhibition. So hyped, truly recommend. And shout out to allstnyc for the encouragement back when I first posted an ask about opening a gallery! 🤞🏿🤞🏿🤞🏿also if you find yourself in San Diego, make sure to stop by! @deixisgallery

Spent a month in a cabin in a rural town in Washington state and fell in love. Spent my days gardening, writing, cooking, working out with logs and trees, just living the most simple life. Being back in a city makes me sick to my stomach now and capitalistic 🤮. It sucks.
