I first learned about this piece in a design history class in college but it’s something I return to from time to time. Just came up again because a recent runway show took inspiration from the costumes (Idr who let me know if you do??) Stunning visuals, hard to believe it’s over 100 years old.
omg this just brought up a buried memory from my high school art class where we had to draw figures in this style. i completely forgot about it oh my god.
Featuring an original score by Daniel Lopatin and Soo Joo Park. Also the 16/17 Métiers d'art Show; these two really sparked my interest in runway show scoring back in 2022. Also the Balenciaga Fall 24 show!
went to the art series ballet at lincoln center last week. one performance felt like peeling the skin off my body, another sent me into silent tears. photo is a blurry 35mm from the after party where Elizaveta Porodina’s work was on display. get those 30 under 30 tix.
Actually I have another hater take. Sorry but I do judge you if you use this (or any other AI chat bot because apparently there are others?) and treat it as a source of truth.....very strange behavior. I thought we all thought it was dumb but I now hear people reference it's use in common conversation/at work as if it's not weird? Why are you all feeding the beast? Can we please use our brains? Use it or lose it, baby!
