i had one egg, a stale english muffin and a dream. lately i’ve been getting annoyed at the fact that we buy like £30 of ingredients to make a random recipe, and i’m trying to stop doing that and since then i’ve been making up the best little recipes. this morning i had no toast and one egg, so i couldn’t make scrambled eggs on toast which is a go-to when im having a slow morning. so i decided to make a french toast out of a stale english muffin and whipped up some double cream i had lying around that was about to be out of date. not the most unique recipe in the world don’t get me wrong but it was so fucking good and cost nothing!

This has been my grind this week … chopping up leftover chocolate bars for cookies, making weird fritters from whatever veggies are left. I feel like I’m on chopped!!

mixed greens lightly wilted & salted in a skillet.
a handful of cherry tomatoes tossed in and staggered.
three eggs cracked on top. baked until the whites were fully cooked but the yolks still soft.
topped with a light layer of cheese and crushed red pepper.
matcha was the rest of my homemade blueberry lavender syrup with canned coconut milk.

i don’t know how to work the toaster in my house and instead of asking someone, i just put the eggs in the cold bread
i really enjoyed the way the bread hugged the eggs, i thought that was mad cute and it made me smile
the texture was so soft and the juxtaposition of hot & cold was very nice

sleeping naked with crisp new sheets and a fluffy duvet. added points if you didnt tie your hair up. the post sleep only wearing glasses, drinking black coffee and doing things on your laptop hits 10 times harder. or maybe a crossword / sudoku / reading your horoscope from yesterdays news paper. very chic.

read all the books on your shelf before you buy a new one. listen to all your cds and records before you buy a new one. wear your shoes into the ground until you buy a new pair. burn all your candles before you buy a new one. let your lucky pen run dry before you buy a new one. let holes wear in your jeans before you buy a new pair. create oportunity with the things that are already in your possession. appreciate the moons that orbit around your day to day and give them attention. make impressions in them, write on them, bend them, savour them. and when your lost, look to these moons orbit and find yourself in the centre.
