had a spiritual experience with this film during the midst of a food poisoning induced low-grade fever this week. my second watch and i loved it approximately 300% more than i had the first time. a beautiful soundtrack made possible by only Tom Waits and Crystal Gayle. it’s moody and it’s simple and glittery in the most exciting way.
A movie from the 1980s restored to 4k resolution, love story from our parents’s generation complete with perms! kinda hallucinatory, very pretty, FIVE STARS
i would sell my soul to watch this film for the first time again. just stunning…so much said with very few words & each frame lingers for just the right amount of time
painfully beautiful film. good god. go see this immediately!!! it will make you feel good. instant favorite. i can't get over the final scene - nothing new but beautifully done. beautiful is the only word i can think of.
also has a very lovely (albeit small) soundtrack. reminded me of people i once loved. made the experience all the more bittersweet
it‘s so easy to forget. this is a very important thing to do at least once a week. music is the greatest thing on earth, but it can be very alienating. eavesdrop! listen to the birds!
Treat every interaction like an interview. You are an investigative journalist and EVERYTHING is the scoop. Get out there with a pen behind your ear and a notepad in your pocket. Ask the cashier at the grocery store where he was born or if he’s ever been in love. Nobody can ever prevent you from learning.
the sweet and lacey kind like they made back in the day. it’s meditative and so very romantic. get little pearls and various kinds of glitter and paper flowers to decorate. write little handwritten notes for your dearly beloved. make an extra special valentine for your extra special someone.
