assuming you haven't already done this. i just put mine in a spreadsheet. i include figures for "investing" and "saving" then just put an amount i know i can afford every month. just make the budget and stick to it. if you find you can't stick to the budget then maybe examine your spending habits and see if there's anything you can do without buying.

Start by tracking your income and expenses to understand where your money goes. Setting up a budget allows you to see your monthly spending and identify areas where you can cut back.

because doing more than a little bit is stressful, but it's nice to start getting an idea of just how much money you're spending in a month...

Put each purchase into a category and you can see where you’re overspending. To spend less, try to replace paying people to do things that you can do for yourself. Cook at home, make coffee, iron your clothes, invite friends over instead of going out. Then, let’s say you make dinner instead of spending money going out. Now pay yourself for that work! Did you save £10 by cooking for yourself? Put £10 into savings. Try to notice the growth in your savings, too. I think it can be motivating to watch the number go up each month.
