Music has always been there for me, especially when I was lonely growing up (I had a rough upbringing). Music has been there to comfort me, to pump me up, to help me unlock my creativity, to lull me to sleep. There’s a song for every mood I’m in. I grew up singing so I was always surrounded by music. I currently love curating playlists on Spotify. I typically do it for just myself but I want to start sharing it with the world.

sharing music is such a beautiful thing, and there’s no better feeling than having a playlist specifically made for you <3 friends, partners, family - make them for yourself if you have no one to share with! my spotify is linked if you wanna check out some of mine :)

This is my love language. I’ve loved It since the days of making mix CDs, so I typically keep them to 18-20 songs. Somewhere around an hour. Playlists can be infinite now, but adding self-imposed limitations forces you to make choices and be intentional. It makes for better playlists. Sometimes I make playlists for people based around a theme (like Fall) but other times it’s a random word or word phrase like “retro futurism.” The goal is always to find those gems that people will hear for the first time and go, “Oh man, I love that song.”

I live in Chicago! Depending on where you're staying, there's a bunch of cool things to do as Chicago is a city of neighborhoods. Wicker Park and Logan Square are popular neighborhoods to check out and they're on the cheaper end. California Clipper, Rainbo Club, and Common Decency are bars that are worth checking out. I know that Common Decency has a happy hour 4-6pm 7 days a week. If you're into movies, check out the Music Box Theatre! It's a 95 year old arthouse movie theatre in the Southport Corridor/Lakeview neighborhood that shows independent and second run films. Speaking of Lakeview, Clark Street is pretty popular if you're going to check out Wrigley Field! There are bars up and down the block so you won't need to walk far to find a place to drink at for cheap. If you need any more ideas or recommendations, let me know!
