is a fabulous source for cooks and gourmets who have the essentials and want to get fancy or freaky with it. I’d also recommend a subscription to some ingredient they like (fresh pressed olive oil club, for example) or to a cooking publication

One of my favorite books ever for cooking is The Flavor Bible! It's fascinating because it will share a word -- it can be a season, cooking style, or specific food product -- and it will list all the various flavors that go well with it. It can be super handy to have on hand to come up with recipes or understand what flavors go well together! Also a Cooks Illustrated membership is totally worth it. It will teach you so much and the content is seriously endless. There are various free articles too if you want to get a taste. You can get a membership that also includes America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country which I very highly recc. Great equipment reviews too! Have fun and enjoy the journey :-)

Great variety of solid recipes, nice range of time/difficulty and a shockingly helpful/useful comments section when wondering about shortcuts, substitutions or tweaks. Worth the sub If you’re even halfway into cooking!

at least casually. don’t delete the accounts but don’t have the apps on your phone either. rediscover your love of reading thru the magic of recognizing titles strangers are holding on the subway. become a subway reader. don’t use sound as an escape from your thoughts/feelings/surroundings. grocery shopping without headphones is actually kind of beautiful! pick up a new hobby or two or three. one of them should be something you’re not good at, and at least one should be no- or low-cost. never. stop. learning. the library, the parks and rec department, and nearby museums offer great materials already but also usually have free lectures or courses. go outside more. like, a lot more. (took this much less literally, so apologies if it’s not what you’re looking for lol — as a narcoleptic I have no tips on how to Not Sleep since Sleep is basically my job)
