I think when I was younger and making music, a lot of older jazz musicians would kinda have this super pretentious tone to them. So it kinda threw me off liking live band music but as of recent, I’ve fell back in love. Mark William Lewis definitely helped w that & kokoroko. Yussef dayes experience as well w my brother Venna.

i only listened to jazz in high school unfortunately, i look back in shame but also gratitude as now i’m able to listen to music in different ways every time and it just provides a great experience.

Being a jazz musician, I am incredibly biased toward jazz as a genre, and it's even more unsurprising that I absolutely adore going to any gig around town that I can find.
Tonight I find myself face-to-face with a friend I didn't expect to see, his voice just as beautiful as ever, going through standard after standard with hardly a sweat, even through the terribly hot night.
Nothing I love more than my coffee, American Spirit, jazz, and some conversation with perfect strangers.

Cannot get over them, even better with someone who isn’t into jazz and watching them get converted. The vibe is insane, the players’ commitment to their instruments takes over the entire audience. It makes you feel like you’re part of something big. Cannot recommend enough
