The National released a live album last week and I checked it out because I have seen them live back in like 2014 at Boston Calling when it used to be at City Hall in the Fall. I almost yearly remember how much I love The National because they are a little culturally cooked and have transitioned into being a millennial legacy act but they have 3-4 albums that are all timers in the 2000s/2010s.

*One of my favorite live albums. It offers a rawer take on some Tagabow songs, and these live versions often feel lot moodier (in the best way possible). It also includes the delightful electronic interludes featured in between songs during their live sets. This record just really displays They are Gutting a Body of Water’s excellence and further solidifies them as one of the most interesting shoe-gaze acts today.

Not newwww but recently available on streaming. the album just hit its 20th birthday which is crazy. Finally freed from the shackles of listening to albums on YouTube. really like this record. Love their most recent alb 'violent things' verrrryyy much fyi give that a listen too! Or don't! Idk

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
