As someone who has terrible object permanence and can NEVER remember the existence of something if I can't see it (this includes objects AND goals), it was quite literally the best way to keep awareness of my long term goals, even when life started falling apart and getting hectic. At the end of the year I always look at my vision board and realize that I genuinely fulfilled a good majority of the goals on there, and it's so sweet Always keep your eyes on the prize yall and always dare to dream !!!

i’ve spent a lot of my * career * accomplishing life goals, but barely noticing because i’ve been so quick to push the finish line further, if you get me. it goes something like this- throughout childhood, maybe you follow a blog, maybe it’s key in forming the foundations of your taste. for YEARS the dream is to grace the pixels of the holy fork. and then, it happens, they review the record, they say nice things, and just like that you understand it’s possible. you’re playing ball in a new league, so you keep playing, you know what it takes so you play hard, and barely notice the w. this past week i rolled out a project that i’ve been working on for a long time. it’s not linked here because that’s not what i’m recommending- i’m taking my own gd advice and taking a gd sec to be pumped i made things and am showing them to people. i am not enlightened; i will get back to relentlessly “marketing” in no time. for now though, it’s cool to make a thing, so i made a cool thing, and now i think it’s cool i made that thing. i recommend remembering to take 1 sec to remember it’s cool you made a thing, because it’s cool you made a thing. you can find my thing on my page, send me yr thing too so i can be like “cool hell yeah.”

to slowly plot your dreams out. real happiness comes from the pursuit of something. set a huge goal and incrementally work towards it day by day. failure is better than never trying at all.

Sometimes it’s nice to just feel like you have a purpose, even with leisure activities. (ex: I want to finish this really long tv show by the end of the month, etc.) It makes me feel like I’m exercising some sort of positive control in my life and OH BOY does it feel good to achieve something, even if it’s just a silly little goal I set for myself.

There's been a handful of zine-making events in my area and it's helped me 1) explore my art styles & other mediums of creativity, and 2) meet some really cool zine authors!! Highly recommend <3

My steps: 1. Shut my phone down, hide it in my room, and lock the door so it's a pain in the ass to get to. 2. Be bored, and sit in the boredom for like 7-10 minutes (MINIMUM)-- once you're bored see what your brain gravitates to beyond The Screen (is it doodling? is it playing guitar? is it writing?) 3. Find the little thing your brain latches on to, and start doing it! Even if it's something goofy like "Just Dance youtube videos" to dance to LOL this is you, deliberately following your brain's natural curiosity & interest And then rinse and repeat however you like <3 Once you get accustomed to the smaller, more gratifying feel good activities, social media starts to feel too overwhelming to even pick back up again-- you'll be reaching for it less and less (a final aside: I am of the major belief that creativity & imagination is critical to creating a better reality to live in, because it shows that you're capable of leaning into what "doesn't exist", and are courageous enough to imagine and build a reality that defies the status quo. but that's just me LOL)
