Cassette Tapes

I'm lucky enough to have a car that still has a cassette player. I have now accumulated a small library of tapes that fill up my glove box and passenger seat. Having tangible music in the car is important because you never know when you're out of service or without a phone. Plus I enjoy listening to albums from top to bottom. CASSETTE TAPES

this wasn’t a given option, but i fell in love with tapes by necessity—it’s the only way to listen to music in my old car without an adapter. changing tapes while driving is super clunky to me, so i’ve been forced to listen to the same album on repeat on long drives. most notably Songs From the Big Chair, over and over and over at 3am driving home from DC.

It works! for some reason, cassettes are having a resurgence. haven’t yet bought a new cassette, but s/o to goodwill for some good ones.
