i treasure my iphone SE something since i am the only person i know who still has a phone with those thick sides and a home button that unlocks your phone with your fingerprint. remember those days?? i’m keeping this phone in as good condition as i can and holding on to my button privilege forever. plus i like the small screen 🦭

before my current phone I always bought secondhand. the only reason I got this one new was because I couldn’t afford the up front payment of a second hand phone so got a new one on contract to pay off over 3 years. Once my contract runs out I won’t be upgrading I’ll just keep this one until I run it into the ground or possibly sell it to buy a second hand one that has a less shit camera. My last iPhone I had longer than anyone thought was possible, and it was second hand to me! (iPhone SEs are almost unbreakableo swear). Ive never smashed an iPhone even after dropping it a lot (CASES PEOPLE CASES) and while I know planned obsolescence is a thing, I’ve found with phones that people use it to justify buying new ones much more than is necessary. I don’t buy any tech new if I can help it! Save the planet and save your money!

shopping for an ipod classic has made me wonder why i want an ipod classic. it’s something that has one singular function (a function that my phone does pretty well) and i think it’s exactly because of that that i want one. of course, the argument of the nostalgia factor is there, but the simplicity of it all is attractive to me... i would like to focus on the music only and enjoy how tactile and nice the buttons and the build quality is on one of those things…
of course in terms of other tech the nostalgia is probably playing a bigger part in it, like using an old iphone for your instagram photos for the grain and lower quality… but i think getting the most life possible out of these things is a really fun and responsible thing to do and it should be more common.

Quite potentially (hopefully not) the last great smartphone size. As powerful as any other model on the market with the best hand feel. I’ll use this bad boy til its out of service.

i just cut open an orange, i smell it. i am about to make some tea, i smell both the cup and the tea bag. i am cooking, i smell all the ingredients and spices and make sure they work together. putting on a t-shirt, i smell it. about to pour some water into my water bottle, smell it (that can be disgusting).
i don't know if this is a habit or a tick but i do it unconsciously.

i always always carry a pack of cards in my bag. my cards have been to all the countries i’ve been to and have been soaking wet, in snow, in sand... they will fall apart soon.
i probably end up using them 50% of the time but at this point they are a safe item that i know i can whip out if you need to spice it up with your friends. i love learning new card games and my goal for 2025 is to ask more strangers to join in and play a few rounds with me and my friends.

i love that my drying dishes take on new forms and structures every day. a form of sculpture that i build and rebuild constantly with infinite arrangements and styles depending on who stacks them.
