the essentials:
- dream journal immediately or else I won't remember my dreams
- dental care
- yoga: I am learning the ashtanga sequence but I'm so lazy about it. I basically do as many poses as I have time and energy for which is usually less than 40 minutes and sometimes might literally be one sun salutation. always at least 5 mins of savasana.
- breakfast (oatmeal and coffee) with a tarot card that I pull in response to a question I've been thinking about
- this is when I look at my phone, which usually means quickly checking my texts and emails but only replying if it's easy and pleasurable or urgent (because I really should be starting my job right about now)
- get dolled up - hair, makeup, perfume, outfit that evokes a mood. I might skip this if I'm feeling lazy on a weekend but it unfortunately makes me feel better to look cute
- walk or bike ride - sometimes to the office or if it's a day I am at home, just like a 10-20 minute walk around the neighborhood. sometimes I am listening to the morning budget meeting for work but if I have time, I'll do one of my other walk variations which include repeating the 5 remembrances of buddhism, working out a creative problem, letting the city walk me, or noticing specific things.... I won't get into detail on those though because I'm already embarrassed by the length of this post π
I don't always do all of this, but I usually do most of it.
