* waking up early. i know this is possible i am Done starting my day so late. i want to wake up early, clear my mind, and read for 15-20 minutes (another habit i've been trying to build) * more walks. i am surrounded by a number of trails and parks i pass by daily but have not personally ventured yet * a new album every day! i love listening to new music it fills me with so much joy especially an album all the way through which i believe is the Right way to listen to new music * writing ... not entirely journaling i realize i am not consistent enough for that but noting down present thoughts lists doodles words i like in a tiny field notes ... (ex. list of things im grateful for that day, month/day/year - love the way this sweater feels on me, tweet i would like to share but can't at the time) (yes, this is all possible in the notes app but i want to shift from the notes app to field notes) * knitting!!! getting back into the groove of fiber arts for a couple of minutes every day. i think the trouble is trying to find the motivation for it but i have to remind myself the reasons why i do it to begin with: leaving something tangible behind, inspiring others, furthering my identity and interests tentative habits list, more will be added!

- going to bed & waking up early. no screen time right before sleeping or right after waking up either - doing something creative every day, even if i only have the energy to manage a sentence in my journal or something. i've had a horrible creative block for months and i think the answer is just to force it - prioritizing myself & my needs/wants over others. no more spreading myself too thin or neglecting what's right for me bc it's wrong for someone else in my life - saying yes to things!!! - taking my usual at home activities out of the house - writing at a cafe, etc

the essentials: - dream journal immediately or else I won't remember my dreams - dental care - yoga: I am learning the ashtanga sequence but I'm so lazy about it. I basically do as many poses as I have time and energy for which is usually less than 40 minutes and sometimes might literally be one sun salutation. always at least 5 mins of savasana. - breakfast (oatmeal and coffee) with a tarot card that I pull in response to a question I've been thinking about - this is when I look at my phone, which usually means quickly checking my texts and emails but only replying if it's easy and pleasurable or urgent (because I really should be starting my job right about now) - get dolled up - hair, makeup, perfume, outfit that evokes a mood. I might skip this if I'm feeling lazy on a weekend but it unfortunately makes me feel better to look cute - walk or bike ride - sometimes to the office or if it's a day I am at home, just like a 10-20 minute walk around the neighborhood. sometimes I am listening to the morning budget meeting for work but if I have time, I'll do one of my other walk variations which include repeating the 5 remembrances of buddhism, working out a creative problem, letting the city walk me, or noticing specific things.... I won't get into detail on those though because I'm already embarrassed by the length of this post πŸ™Š I don't always do all of this, but I usually do most of it.

one day i was on the work computer and i wanted to find more Fruits Magazines and came across dozens of pdfs on are.na!!! it's catered towards design and architecture students it's the loveliest tool as a casual internet user. it's self financed with premiums (no ads) plus it's minimalistic and easy to use - it organizes pictures, websites, and pdfs into these sections called channels. there is no algorithm it's purely based on hunter and gatherer vibes i started using it recently and have found countless channels of historical zines, 90s/2000s perfume ads, bare bone websites built with just html, old blogs, and so much more. i think perfectly imperfect and are.na are proof that the internet is well and alive! just attached one of the channels i follow it's a collection of vintage Japanese advertisements and graphics :*)
