So many wonderful connections have happened here, and y’all have taught me a lot about things I wouldn’t have thought to explore otherwise. I don’t understand how yall end up at these random ass places you do, come across the books on ancient polyrhythmic science or whatever you read, listen to those indescribably niche tracks I’ve never heard of before or since, or host art installations from your makeshift garage, but I love hearing about every little bit of it, beyond fascinating to know all your stories and passions and the things that occupy ya mind and keep you alive. It’s like a big canvas comprised of different jagged pieces that all add up to a whole.
I’ve only been on the app for two weeks or so and it’s already partly helped me heal from a lotta past grief and pain so I’m grateful to interact with yall.

I'm so grateful for the space that's been created here. I know I've shared this many times before, but it deserves to be repeated: This site provides me with the opportunity to just be me, outside of being a mom or a therapist. Even virtually being able to interact with other adults and talk about things outside of my kids, or their kids, has impacted me positively in a way I never would have expected. I love all the people I've connected with in both big and small ways. I love sharing with you all. You've opened up my world that I didn't even realize had gotten smaller. Cheers to us all, and especially the whole @PERFECTLYIMPERFECT team who continuously curate this lovely space!!!

Found this app on TikTok last year and boy oh boy has it opened some metaphorical doors for me.
Grateful to have gained friendships across states and nations, developed a pen-pal relationship with a stranger, taken stock of my values, felt supported while quitting nicotine, and remained hopeful because of the amazing recs and answers you all have shared with me.
Shoutout to those who have consistently interacted and made this one of the last safe places on the internet for me :)

Here it is, folks! Volume I of what could very well be a continuous project. Thank you so much to everyone that submitted - I smiled the entire time I was putting this together. It's best listened to with headphones ☺️

This collection of field recordings is a collaborative effort with users of PI.FYI, each of which recorded their own pieces. It features audio from all over the world and exhibits eclectic moments from London Underground commutes to cuckoo bird calls in Dhaka to the sounds of a century-old American diner.
Online communities like PI.FYI often represent a diverse set of people, places, and experiences, but together, the submissions form a living collage that highlights the commonalities of modern life - a unifying message for such a tumultuous time. The first track features all of the sounds played at once in an attempt to create an audio snapshot of an online community but in their offline lives.
The individual recordings are unedited except for minor gain and compression adjustments for consistency across the collection.
