Lately, I find myself falling back into old music listening habits, with hints of new discoveries. Currently, Sade and lots of new-age jazz and other “cozy” (for lack of a better term) pieces to really get into the holiday spirit. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t detest the fact that for one month per year I cant go outside hearing All I Want For Christmas Is You, however it’s nice to put my own spin on the late-stage capitalist habitual behaviors every winter placed unwillingly onto the populous. To evade cynically ranting about how un-jolly I appear (although my mood and stability are more present than ever, so don’t fret), here are some of my favorites currently, in no particular order:
- Kiss of Life — Sade
- Eyes Without A Face — Billy Idol
- Image — Magdalena Bay
- Sensual — Piero Picconi
- A Birds Last Look — Macabre Plaza (among other select songs from Out With The Old In With The Taboo)
- deep in it — beriloz & Ted Jasper
- Mexican Dream — Piero Picconi
Above are some select songs from what I’m coming back to these days, I truly recommend Sade and her band’s music. It’s introspective, beautifully crafted and mastered, with a one-of-a-kind voice from the lead singer.
Until next time,
hux.
