Yes! Everytime i suggest people pick up art as a hobby they say ‘but i’m so bad at it’ that’s not a reason!??? just do it - the process is joy inducing not the praise or validation later.
I like learning a broad range of new things. I have some friends with similar sensibilities that have never left academia, but that’s not really my thing. id rather just be mediocre at some skill then move onto the next thing until ive done everything or die.
