One of the greatest films ever made, and probably the sexiest. The thing that makes it so good, and I think so sexy, is that both the characters are shy weirdo losers. That’s why they’re brilliant and sexy and likeable. You make Mr Grey not a shy weirdo and suddenly he’s gross and creepy and not at all sexy (looking at you 50 shades).
I will never forget the first time I watched this movie not knowing what to expect and coming out in the end completely charmed by this film centring a woman in a state of arrested development who practices self harm trying to seduce her sadomasochist boss into a loving relationship. Maggie Gyllenhaal is so perfect in this role I cant imagine anyone else playing her, and James Spader is also perfect casting because he definitely has the vibes of a little freak who’s still hot for some reason. The scene in the garden makes me squeal. Also, the Japanese poster is awesome.
there are a lot. most notably: secretary (hot), bad influence (hot), and sex lies and videotapes. plus the one where he has a car fetish like he's that guy from my strange addiction but in a different way.
