I know people are going to be using it a lot maybe for dumb menial stuff, but I have not had a moment where it felt compellingly as though it was going to ā€œtake overā€. Everybody I’ve seen who has made that argument is somehow relying on it to be true, so I can’t trust them. I immediately judge anybody who tells me they use chatGPT for something related to their work. And I don’t think I’m being unfair. At best, something like chatGPT is a tool that people can use for brainstorming, but directly using chatGPT output is just pathetic to me. I dunno.

ehhh I mean meta is using our data for god knows what. It *is* pathetic, but there will always be people inputting things. Even then there's a consensus of anti-ai atm, yet the reality is that even if all of us don't input things directly, meta + other data mining companies are uploading everything we input from social media + third party search engines to develop their POWERFUL product. AI is being integrated into phones/tech that we *don't need but... well... do need if you want a job in the capitalist society* (eg phones back in the 90s - you NEED a phone if yr going to have a job here). It's not super crazy to imagine with the most powerful product, and tech-advancement in the world, that they would try to globalize it. I mean regardless, the "take over" is the imbalance of power that these companies utilize through AI... stealing our data, our rights and privacy. To create and spread misinformation/political agendas quick and easily, to cast jobs redundant, to integrate capitalist society with no realistic opt to detach from it . I mean like even now. GDPR isn't universal. I think the fear makes sense even if we don't know what will specifically happen in the future. If you wanna know my theory I can tell u.

…not!
at my work there’s a window where i can see out into the cafe and i would say approximately 90% of people who work on their laptops within view are using chatgpt for literally everything.
my boss will use it to make weekly plans that highlight people doing good jobs but it doesnt feel genuine because it was fed to a robot and barfed out as AI prose. everyone is using it for everything and it’s just amalgamating all language into a sanitized business casual email-speak that lacks any individuality.
it’s so sad and i don’t care if it makes me a luddite i will take a hardline stance and not use it for anything.

I fully believe that the AI chatbots are very intentionally being pushed as an educational/social/creative ā€œtoolā€ to make people less able to have creative and critical thought. if we put all of that energy into something as convenient as chatgpt, whether it’s to help write an essay or use as a ā€œtherapist,ā€ we think we’re satiating that human urge to be creative. Creativity is at its most powerful when people can pull from the discomfort and inspiration of the human experience, which can lead to critiques towards the oligarchs running the country right now. convenience will always win people over when they’re exhausted from working in this late stage of capitalism. Also, it would be incredibly easy to inject the bots with propaganda and misinformation.

Actually I have another hater take. Sorry but I do judge you if you use this (or any other AI chat bot because apparently there are others?) and treat it as a source of truth.....very strange behavior. I thought we all thought it was dumb but I now hear people reference it's use in common conversation/at work as if it's not weird? Why are you all feeding the beast? Can we please use our brains? Use it or lose it, baby!

I am taking journalling seriously. It makes me feel cared for, pampered almost. Iā€˜m taking my brain and wringing out all the thoughts onto a slab of paper. It’s also beneficial to the folks around me so they don’t have to put up with as many rants. My thoughts need to be extruded one way or another, and journalling has the added benefit of existing as a document that can be reviewed later.

she is a good rapper. The band is also good. I’m sorry to say but it was hamilton vibes. I couldn’t finish it. She definitely has talent but I think she needs to work on substance over execution.
