just finished a huge deep clean of my bedroom and have never felt better. i even cleaned all the scary dusty bits and the mirrors and the stack of books to read next. now to overhaul my wardrobe ā¦ā¦ā¦
this week i did my laundry, cleaned my whole room, stayed on top of the dishes, and picked out clothes i don't wear enough to give away :') it's felt so good to come home to a clean and (mostly) organized room <3
i love cleaning my spaces, i love how pristine life feels after sweeping and mopping and vacuuming and dusting and rearranging the bookshelves and desk and changing the bedding and washing my clothes and dishes and switching the decorations and the whole house smells so nice and looks brand new.
for coats and big mugs of hot coffee and giant stripey scarves and layering and colourful tights and getting to wear my favourite leather coat that smells like falling in love in melbourne and berets and faux fur and wool and rain. which isnāt to say im sick of summer. i just want to wear some jeans and not sweat my butt off.
this video essay is superb. so well researched and lots to chew on. this has really made me reconsider what i think of as āwearableā pieces in my wardrobe - the everyday items that arenāt costume. and there arenāt a lot of them. i havenāt invested in sturdy, nice basics because iāve never been a ābasicsā person. but getting dressed everyday is getting more and more annoying, and this video really helped me understand why, and to re-consider my anti-basic bias. definitely motivating me to properly invest in my everyday wear! a must watch for freaks who love fashion
