i have a rule where i don't work/study/do chores past 8 PM (obviously this isn't possible every single day but i try my best). This helps because i know no matter how terrible my day is going, i can look forward to my 8 PM relaxation time. i watch movies, shows or hang out with friends.
an added bonus is it really motivates you to finish doing all the stuff you don't like very quickly to actually finish before 8 PM.
