I found out about this band recently and have been obsessed with their record āKnow by Heartā since I heard it. Their shoegaze-leaning stuff is immaculate, but pigeon holing them as a shoegaze band doesnāt feel right because their discography expands far beyond that in my opinion. I love the lyricism, the drum sounds, the riffs.

In high school a girl I liked recommended their music, and I pretended to like them in hopes she might take an interest in me, but I'm sure she saw right through it. I confessed I didn't actually like the band and we never spoke much after that. Flash forward I am in college and for some reason, the band found me again, and I have been unable to put them down for about 3 months now. It's gotten to the point where I cannot get into my car without immediately queuing an album of theirs, and my friends are beginning to give me shit for it (which is totally fair). My favorite tracks atm (in no particula order) go as follows:
- menswear
- settle down
- give yourself a try
- she's American
- happiness
I know the band gets a bad rep because the lead bloke is a piece of shit, but the rhythms and melodies are too much to ignore for me so I find myself humming and tapping my feet incessantly throughout the day to all of their songs.
Now I'm not the first man, nor will I be the last, to discover this band and think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread (well, self-titled certainly is), but while I am having my time with them, i will enjoy them to the fullest.
I'd like to Write more about this band, as I feel like I have a lot to say about them, just not at this very moment. It is 4:20 in the A.M., I have my stupid busboy job in about 8 hours and it's going to be dreadful as I'll have to wake up and be a person. Oh well.

Iām convinced that this YouTuber based in London is the most criminally underrated artist of our generation.
She is able to capture what itās like to be in your 20s in a big city, just trying your best to connect to your creativity while also doing all the little things you have to do.
She uses mainly two different camerasā a nice Sony and an old camcorderā and I love how that creates a multi-textured visual style. Her editing style is superb, lots of fade-inās and superimposed images. Her needle drops honestly rival Scorseseās, and her monologues/prose remind me at times of Kerouac and others Babitz.
Sometimes she includes cheeky little skits that verge on magical realism. Theyāre hilarious, while also walking the line between absurdity and Truth.
i havenāt been able to find her on social media, but I follow her Spotify because her playlists are insanely good.
Linking the video I discovered of hersā but highly recommend diving deep into her other works.
