at least for me! I can see the benefits of vinyl, but they are very big- and vinyl players take up a lot of room!
CDs are easier to store and display… because they’re compact! Hence the name, I guess. Also you can buy cd walkmans. I used to have one as a child, but it broke and I had to get rid of it :( Hoping to get a new one at some point.
I love collecting vinyl, but my record player is out of commission atm and I can't afford to repair it/purchase a new one, so I've been mainly using CDs for now. They're the most compact (like it's literally in their name: Compact Disc) and I love that I can shelve/stack them neatly without occupying a massive footprint unlike their vinyl counterparts.
also, CD TOWERS! the CDs unfortunately out-drip vinyls when it comes to storage options, so that's also another contributing factor for me.
no hate to vinyls though, i just have a rlly small room where it can't fit a vinyl player (;′⌒`) i was huge on buying albums (kpop groups, bands, or other artists i generally liked) so i have a large catalogue of cd albums laying around our storage (can't play back then since our only cd/dvd player broke) BUT i've been listening to 'em nonstop when i got my first car (which has a cd player since it's an older model) and there is just something magical about popping in a cd for some reason...
I love listening and buying CD's as they're much more accessible/cheaper than vinyl but they are still kinda cool. Also a form of decor like I put them on my shelves
As someone who often falls into burnout and creative slumps with my art and animation, I find that taking a little step out of your comfort zone and trying something different really helps! It can be a different medium, a different style, etc. as long as you’re doing something creative.
Oftentimes what gets me out of my slumps is switching from digital to traditional art, and also doing a bit of writing! I always return reinvigorated and full of ideas.
Well, not ANY song, technically- but Zappa did enjoy writing songs about weirdos. Disco Boy and Dancin’ Fool are two songs that come to mind immediately, but I’m sure there are some other songs like that. Hell, Joe’s Garage is a whole concept album centred around a bit of a weirdo! I’d recommend his songs in general, but if you want some slightly funny descriptions, his discography is there.
