Can't pick favourites so I'm letting myself choose a bunch :) Sue me Mogwai Fear Satan, Mogwai β€”A quarter of an hour of post-rock with a beautiful, beautiful build. It Never Entered My Mind, Miles Davis Quintet β€” Feels a bit cheaty because it's jazz and there definitely are lyrics inspiring the lead melody.. still wonderful for pensive late-night walks. Earth Moon Transit, Duster β€” if you haven't sat back and spent time with this album, what are you doing? Clear an evening and put it on repeat. Yes, technically it has lyrics. Personally I barely hear them. Prologue, Kamasi Washington β€” Such powerful energy on the closing track of last year's album. Blade Runner Blues, Vangelis β€” the song that made me fall in love with synthesisers.

I love listening to music that seems to marry together your mind and body. It somehow translates often indescribable aspects and experiences of your life into something you can fully understand. Atlantis by LTJ Bukem is one of the songs that do it for me.

Electronica 1. Western cowboy dance music 2. World building, maybe for fans of flume & clams casino 3. Lo fi house type with lots of vocal flavor 4. Ambient mix with some emotionally driven house 5. Hauntingly beautiful interlude 6. Guitar Electronic, more world building 7. Lo fi, video games, feels like that San Junipero episode of Black Mirror 8. Lots of breaks and drum and bass that constantly build upon each other (a true Fav) 9. DROPS (this shit slaps and is my standout) 10. beautiful interlude 11. Another fav, stylistically not sure how to call this one. Feels so inmeshed into many subgenres but simply wonderful Electronica might be the best way to describe 12. Nice house 13. Outro strings. Feels like sunset into blue hour on the farm

I’ve been maintaining a looong playlist spanning jazz, folk, ambient, r&b/doo-wop, shoegaze, soundtrack scores and more, I’m sure. The main theme is imagining tracks that would sound good in an empty old dusty bar, or maybe walking along a foggy river bank on a still night. Sonically, I’m aiming for interesting textures, catchy melodies, or sparse production. Throw it on shuffle and see what catches yr ear. Sampler of artists: Mary Lattimore, Eno/Fripp, Cassandra Jenkins, Harry Nilsson, Beach House ✨

I'm not obsessed with it but it's always sweet when the barista does something cool. This one yesterday made me smile because after seeing a few others I realised the guy was doing PokΓ©mon! Fairly certain mine is mew or Mewtwo, I saw him do a horsea, pikachu, and squirtle too...

Koudelka was a photographer who documented Europe from the 60s onwards, recording the lives of travelling people, Soviet invasions, struggles with poverty, and more. He later became a member of the Magnum society and continued his work into old age. If you have the time, it's really worth digging into his work as he had a real eye for striking images that provide a lot of context for the situation he was in. He used to travel with very little besides a sleeping bag and camera so he often experienced the harsher side of life while on the job. At times his photos were smuggled out of the soviet borders, and published anonymously, to keep him safe. Check the link for a good starting point on Magnum's website!
