i love the camaraderie of a really cold winter walk. on my evening stroll, there was someone walking their dog who was also wearing a blue snowsuit and orange hat. they yelled BLUE SNOWSUIT ORANGE HAT!!!! it was 14 degrees and i nodded at everyone i passed
I am a self proclaimed winter hater, but with each year I find it harder and harder to harbor that hatred as I grow older and find loveliness easier to detect. There is something I find so special about a freezing cold day following a fresh snow where the sky is bight blue and the sun is doubled in reflections off the snow. Today was one of those days and accompanied by my uniqlo heat tech, prescription sunglasses (we love seeing), extra warm mittens and a runny nose I took a walk in the sunshine for the first time in weeks.
Once New York hits freezing temperatures, a quick trip to the car without proper gear can feel like you stepped into Antarctica. For this reason, it is essential to have a good coat, hat, scarf (optional), and gloves/mittens. With good gear you can also participate in the most fun festive activities: Snowball fights, snow angel making, and snowman contests!!!
