It’s back! Honestly no other dining experience quite hits like these dishes can. It’s kinda like jumping into the mosh pit or riding a roller coaster. The flavors are turned up LOUD. When the permanent locations closed i was depressed to think I wouldnt get to eat it again. Catch it while it’s up in NYC! What not to miss:
- chongqing chicken wings (insane Szechuan peppercorn coating)
- thrice cooked bacon with rice cakes (smoke factor is at max)
- shiso fried rice
- smashed cucumbers Go go go.
My gf grew up in Singapore and she says Fishmarket is the best Malaysian food in NYC. I don't have much to compare it to other than Kopitiam which is more of a breakfast/snack spot but wow this place rules. I don't understand how it doesn't have a line down the block... The original is down in the Seaport; the other day we tried the second location on Avenue A right next to Heaven Can Wait. The curried chicken was somehow even more delicious at FishMarket ii, but the laksa was probably ever so slightly better at the original location, though still insanely good in the East Village. I don't want this place to close for lack of business, please go there.
