I spend 50%+ at my time at home sitting on a yoga ball. It will help your core and legs so much! Active sitting is benefical for blood sugar control as well if you're T2 diabetic. It's also fun and silly. It's normal to be sore when you start. Make sure you find a ball that's appropriate for your height & weight, they are not one size fits all, and be prepared to need to return (or regift!) a ball that doesn't work for you. Yoga ball holders for the wall are expensive but a budget option is a hammock meant for stuffed animal display. I have mind insanely perched behind/between our TV against the wall. Yoga balls are fucking amazing I always make everyone who comes over sit on mine. Bounce your troubles away :)
