he's my most watched actor logged on letterboxd, my diary milestones were poor things and nosferatu which he was both in. he's just that motherfucking guy. i love that he disappears into a role while also simultaneously i'm cheesing cos i get to see willem dafoe on my screen.

this guys somehow been in nothing Iāve heard of but everything Iāve seen as of late. heās mastered the ābeing the european guy in the roomā role and has been in so many culty films, notably a lot of Von Trier stuff which I can take or leave Iām. Sorry. he has a great scene in My Own Private Idaho performing a kind of desperate musical number (his OWN ORIGINAL SONG) holding a lamp. he also has a name-droppy criterion closet video which is my favorite kind.
heās an incredible actor. I havenāt seen a film of his that I didnāt like and most end up on my favourites list. I am slightly biased because I love him but he also just adds to the film in a way that I personally havenāt experienced/seen with other actors. heās mesmerising. Iāll be so sad when he dies.
