This song has been stuck in my head the entire week. I watched a show called the Flight of the Conchords on HBO recently and they did a parody of this song called āinner city pressureā and had to revisit the actual song. After listening to it on repeat, I canāt help but feel like somehow the band Dry Cleaning is inspired by them even though theyāre way more post-punk leaning rather than synth based. This song came out way before i was born but I canāt help but think it is a timeless and futuristic sounding song
One of the best little twee-pop albums in existence, in my opinion. I came across the CD during a college radio dj shift and the album cover looked too cute to pass up, so I played a track from it at random. It has since become an all-time favorite of mine <3
just now getting into The Kinks via their album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society. the song i put on this playlist is so cute and snarky !!
I love this bandās discography so far. Canāt wait for the new record to come out!
Itās experimental a lot of the time but it works. Crazy to think this band started in my hometown and then moved to Philly!
Shameless self promo. Been working on tracking my next release which is an LP that should be (hopefully) out before the end of this year. If you like dream pop, post-punk revival, jangle pop, math rock, and garage rock, this might be ur cup of tea. A good chunk of the music was written when I was in middle school/high school except for my EP Never Better, which was written when I was a freshman/sophmore in college with my old bandmates (my first collaborative release!). I honestly cringe listening to my old music now but I guess that just means Iāve become a better songwriter. The new songs sound so different and I canāt wait to share them. In the meantime, Iād check out Too Close for Comfort, D-emo, and Slow Days.
Absolutely loved everything about this deadpan comedy/music series. Definitely is going to be a new comfort tv show for me from here on out. The topics they cover in the show to the setting in New York City is absolutely perfect and still super relevant to this day
