In 2025 I encourage more people to do a letterboxd challenge. They are incredibly fun to put together and are a great way to discover new movies. I'm doing The Japanuary Challenge this month. For the rest of the year, I'm doing The Queer Film Challenge and The Criterion Challenge.
i love letterboxd and its little challenge lists (e.g. scavenger hunt), but i haven't done one in a while, so if you know of any cool ones at the moment pls share!! also share ur letterboxd usernames in the comments, i'm curious to look at some new profiles :) mine is lilefas
i love anything i can use as an online journal. letterboxd is the best because you can be a cinema freak or a cinema dope. it’s the most intelligence-inclusive pretentious site there is. i’m trying to watch 101 new movies this year so if i post my profile maybe that will hold me to it (i’m about 10 behind track). https://boxd.it/c0l0Z
would really reccomend joining the monthly scavenger hunts on letterboxd if you guys want to get through your watchlists in a fun way! they’re hosted by a different person each month, there’s a link to february’s original host’s list on this post! my letterboxd: robynmcc :)
go support your local library, read a book, befriend a librarian, learn something new, sit in the silence and contemplate the meaning of life fun fact: I borrowed and watched seasons 1-7 of game of thrones from the library when I was in high school because I didn't have that sweet HBO money
It's that sweet spot between recession pop and the genre blending/experimental music that became more accessible through streaming and social media. The two really blended well during this era.
