I started collecting postcards a couple of years ago, and I now have two photo albums filled with them! They’re from all over and many of them are gifts from others as well. I also tend to use them as wall decor! My favorites are all pieces from art history—one of my favorite disciplines of study as both an artist and a historian ;) most bookstores sell them, especially used bookstores! They’re a really fun item to collect as they each hold geographical and contextual significance in different ways!

Started collecting coasters with my roommate back in Boston 5 or 6 years ago and have ones from all over like Portland, Montreal, Barcelona and Japan. My favorite custom coasters from different places like local spots around nyc or wherever. I added postcards a couple years, some are related to travel but a lot of them are from different art museums I go to. I usually go to the museum store after I’m done and pick out a couple paintings or pictures of installations I really liked. I put a lot of them on this cork board in my apartment and I like it a lot because most have a good story behind them.

perhaps it’s cliche but I love postcards. I like to frame them and build a wall dedicated to the places I went (my favorite one is a watercolor of Place du Tertre in Montmartre <3)

I find so many beautiful postcards everywhere I go so I thought why don’t I just start a postcard collection as a hobby this year and it’ll be a good excuse to visit as many new bookstores as possible

Getting to decorate my own space in accordance with my personality is such a thrill!! It’s a creative outlet and phenomenal form of self expression… sometimes I don’t want to be anywhere but my dorm room :’) and this is just the start!!!!

This book is incredible—it’s a bit on the darker side at points so if you’re uncomfortable with that definitely look into it more before reading it…I love Lisa Taddeo, she’s brilliant and I can’t recommend her work enough :)
