LOTR AUDIOBOOKS FOR COZY HOLIDAY LISTENING

I like the version with Andy Serkis as the reader!! He‘s wonderful at every voice, not just Gollum whom he also voiced in the movies. 1.5x speed always. This is like 3 straight days of listening so you’re covered for every ride of holiday traveling, staying entertained while doing cozy crafts with your hands by the fire (or fireplace ambience on the TV), and long walking journeys in the cold.

the sleepy bookshelf

every night I listen to this gorgeous British woman read books to me in a slow low gorgeous timbre. the sleepy bookshelf also edits out any parts of stories that might be stressful like the flying monkeys in the wizard of oz which is awesome

lock up your phone

deadass put it in another room and shut the door - if anyone really needs you they'll call. set a timer on anything else (i do it on the oven when I'm cleaning) then break up your tasks into smaller ones and write a checklist. being able to tick things off helps me see how much i've already done. then when the timer goes off either celebrate and finish or set another one and go again. the trick is small enough chunks of time that it's not overwhelming but still let's you get stuff done.
