I don't know about y'all, but I had several friends on Pitchfork staff who were laid off today or told that their freelance contributions were no longer required.
Since 1996, Pitchfork has consistently been THE most reliable source for music criticism -- objective reviews that inspired me to buy music, argue about its merits, or otherwise care about / discover artists I hadn't previously known about (Burial is a good example of this). Conde Nast effectively killed it by merging it with GQ.
