ie. water, air, sunshine, pruning, noise
water: - take a shower - go swiming - drink 8 oz.
air: - go on a walk - open the windows
sunshine: - get some rays, helps with dopamine! - consume some vitamin c - smile at strangers
pruning: - clean up your space - take care of pending grooming tasks (haircut, paint nails, etc.) - do a task you've been avoiding
Noise: (fun fact plants grow better when you talk to them or play music!) - listen to a podcast you love - sing a song - give a friend a call

- eat food that u like (bonus points if u cook a recipe, I find it very therapeutic) - dont procrastinate on cleaning - do it at the start of ur day and end of ur day (also therapeutic) - move ur body!! dance, walk, run, stretch!!!!!!!! it’ll help regulate ur parasympathetic nervous system - cold showers stimulate neural pathway development :) - be careful with what songs u listen to, make sure the lyrics aren’t..erm condescending bc I believe words u tell urself/listen to are very powerful. - pursue long-form media & hobbies to refocus ur attention span perhaps into a book, a feel-good movie/tv show OR paint, journal, sew clothes, make a bracelet. - explore ur city! pottery classes, farmers markets, botanical gardens, thrift stores, new park, new food spots - always indulge in ur appearance even if u aren’t going anywhere. Wear clean clothes, brush ur hair, be hygienic, indulge in skincare. :)

Any time you can, try to do whatever you’re doing in the sunshine! If you have a deck/porch/yard start going out there to play on your phone, read, eat lunch out there sometimes for fun, paint nails, make jewelry, drink coffee or tea, write, research. There are so many things that can be done outside, try to start telling yourself there’s no reason to just sit inside on your phone when you could be outside in fresh air.
Whenever I was in a period where it was harder to make myself do things, I always found that even if it felt like a chore to get up and go outside, once I was out there it always felt great. I also love going on walks with or without headphones and just maladaptive daydreaming.
Maybe once you get into a habit of getting out more little by little you’ll find yourself enjoying it and doing it more habitually!

1) reading and watching movies. I feel like I say this a lot On Here but it is so nice to literally remove your own thoughts from your brain for a while by consuming (being consumed by?) a story. 2) friends. Remind yourself that there is love in the world and in your life. 3) start a project. Give yourself something to do and be excited about. 4) go for a walk and looking to see what small and interesting things you might see. treat it like you’re on a scavenger hunt but you dont know what you’re looking for. 5) eat fresh vegetables and fruits you are excited about perhaps from the farmers market and more generally feed yourself things that make you feel joy 6) get concert tickets or something similar for at least a month in the future give yourself something to look forward to 7) pop music and dancing to it 8) hang out with an animal 9) volunteer for a cause you specifically care about and find a volunteer role that you feel well suited for — when the world is scary and sad the best way to make yourself feel more in control and less hopeless is to actively work to make something better. there is no progress without hope! and even better, you might have fun and meet cool people while you do it.

neal.fun - a bunch of bizarre games/interactives with a dystopian and anti-caplitalist bent
window-swap - shows you the view from random windows from around the world
radio/garden - you can listen to live radio stations from all across the world
ytch.xyz - show you random youtube channels and let's you click through like you're watching an old television
marginalia-search - a search engine that isn't algorithmic, shows you niche search results that would typically be pushed to the bottom of other engines
thecreativeindependent - articles by creatives, very simplified retro design that feels similar to this site
The Magazine Rack at Archive.org - tons and tons of scanned and archived magazines spanning over 50 years - recommend checking out High Times very fun and oh so 70's
