1. don't try to do something demanding ( difficult books, classes, etc) bc you are probably tired and it will be stressful. respect your body. i like to watch tv. it has to be cable tv or something, not streaming, because streaming demands choosing. if you go for streaming, watch the first recomendation of the first list you can find. avoid choosing ANYTHING. 2. if the thing you are doing is boring, let it go immediately and try something else. you don’t have to spend a certain amount of time on a task. drop it. 3. take a shower

1) Make plans: a lot of language schools, embassies and universities offer free entry events. So figure out what you're interested in. If you enjoy film and tv, French language schools often have screenings. If you like cooking, East Asian embassies often do demos. If you like history, universities often offer seminars. Make plans and do them. If you wake up on the day of and don't want to go, that is a sign that you absolutely need to. Go out, try something or learn something, stay for the refreshments and talk to people, and don't put any pressure on yourself to perform in any way, just be in the moment and connect with your interests and people. 2) Eat robust meals: you need to eat. As someone who has been the person who chugs an energy drink down, or has a coffee with an apple, it is not enough. Your mind needs sustenance otherwise you tire quickly and it feels like your brain is leaking out of your ear. But when you eat properly and you have a lot of protein, starch, veg etc in your meals, you feel the difference. So get your favourite cup and plate and put a filling meal on it. 3) Commit to a new hobby. It can be anything. The reason you need to commit is to get into the discipline of needing to get out of bed to do it. Painting, walking, making music etc. Commit to learning or doing something that requires that you get out of bed, and that requires some level of focus. Bonus: look at your phone usage and if there are apps that you use too much, delete them off of your phone and only use them on desktop/laptop.

or, if you have too much attachment, just really try to open them. turn nofs off and you can ween off to start, but I promise when you go to check ur socials to make sure you didn’t miss anything, you will realize you never do, there isn’t anything to miss. In the meantime, pick up a book! I have recs if you want (I stay far away from booktok books). Get a sketch book and draw, try embroidery (it’s easier than you think, I made a little frog and put it on a shirt), start reading the news, do crossword puzzles, clean your room, go for a walk, a drive, call a friend and my personal fave, get a cheap comp notebook and start writing. I realized I had trouble keeping a journal because I would put too much pressure on it and also bought notebooks that were too pretty and delicate.

I plan to do ”personal work” right after work. Usually that’s writing or another creative pursuit at a coffee shop for an hour or two. Sometimes it’s a chore or errand. But only one thing with a finite stopping point. Then I need to relax and do something fun after. I make dinner and watch a show or listen to a podcast or music. Then after watch a movie, read a book, or play a video game.
