wow I haven’t seen that art style in so many years! Lauren Child must’ve been a massive part of everyone’s childhood in british gen z, because although I didn’t read that series, I can remember reading so many of the Charlie and Lola books. Now I can appreciate how unique the art style was.

i really loved the lost island of time by paige britt, ive read that book so many times there are little holes in some of the pages from where i held it i also really loved ivy + bean, along with some graphic novels like rapunzels revenge/calamity jack by nathan hale, and all of the scott pilgrim comics when i was too young to understand them😭

first read these when i was in elementary school. i’m on the last book now of my early-20s reread. the writing is clever and emotional. i’m just shocked by how much depth and language play is contained in these—things i surely missed in my first read. i recommend reading or rereading these at any age!
