As a graphic designer, I’ve worker with clients that have forced me to use Gen AI. And I’m just sick of it. It’s soulless, it’s corporate, it’s lazy and just making a product for product’s sake. So now, I’m really trying to make art and designs that aren’t fully digital. I want my designs to feel more human and tactile. I’m going to start by collecting old magazines and buying a kit for cleanly cutting them off. I’m thinking of practicing collaging among other stuff.
But also, I’m starting by trying not to judge my work so much and just embrace the imperfections of it.
Hopefully, I get to a place where I’m proud of my work.

If you’re hyper creative and breaking new ground, do whatever you need to do.
Everyone else: Take classes in InDesign! You’ll find it much easier to work with, and other designers who come after you will be able to use your file.
Almost every time a client asks me to update a restaurant menu, I have to start with rebuilding it. This actually is one of my favorite things to do, but it’s inefficient and clients shouldn’t have to be paying for it.

I’ve given up on aesthetics. I’m going for insane graphic artist. Mismatch work for myself / clients / my daughter drawing on old notes & projects.

i have a kind of corporate graphic design job and i haven’t really done a project 4 myself since i graduated so i decided to have a little creativity session w one of my best friends (who is also a graphic designer) and we built a concept for a project we are really excited about 😛
safe to say sometimes we’ve gotta sacrifice our free time of doing nothing to start chasing the things we want out in the world.

I always plan what I can (outline, characters, plot, etc) but then when I write, I try not to think about it too much and just let it flow, in that way, things might surprise you or reveal themselves to you that you weren’t even thinking about. Play! You have to enjoy the process. Good luck!
