Despite never actually having played the game, the soundtrack alone still sends me on a time machine back to my youth. I spent my childhood watching minecraft let's plays and role plays; including Aphmau's mystreet, ihascupquake's oasis series, itsfunneh's yandere series, squaishy quack's cake quest and anything by LdShadowlady.
Ah, those were the days.
Honerable mentions include girlsgogames and miniclip (rip flash)
Ooh I am nostalgic over everything it's actually insane. I'm turning 20 this week 🎉 but I feel like a literal 14 year old lol. I've been getting nostalgic over games like Minecraft or deleted games I used to play on my iPad (RIP old toca boca games). Not even just the Minecraft game itself but the music and the worlds!! I was literally crying the other day when I was looking back at some of those ready-made worlds- especially the Christmas one!! And I've literally forgotten about it too until I saw it on tiktok :(
man that game is like, BUILT to be nostalgic. It was the first game I discovered as a kid that WASN'T a free-to-play flash game. When I went to minecraft.com I was shocked to discover that... it cost money??? but all games are free, I thought to myself! All games are, by definition, free! Simpler times, those were. Simpler times.
i was truly a child of the internet, and chronically online, I cannot narrow it down so adding these: • poptropica
• miniclip -- specifically raft wars
• club penguin
• neopets
• moshi monsters
• cartoon network games -- specifically the my gym partner is a monkey and the Billy and Mandy games
• the disney website games
• stardoll -- so simple but so addictive
• moshi monsters
• purple palace
• myscene my weekends literally consisted of cycling through all these websites for hours
