So I’ve been reminiscing on some of my older pottery accomplishments :)) As an intermediate potter, sometimes I find it hard to see themes in my work or trends in my style. i still think my stuff looks good tho

The clay in Iowa is very good quality, so I’ve been told. Maybe that’s why it seems like everyone I knew there–at one time or another–spent time at the wheel, and my life was filled with beautiful & useful ceramics. I have a pieces at home but I’ve moved so much that some got lost, or broke, or I left behind for safe keeping. Pictured, some cups I wanted from Akar last time I was there.

why does it take so many intermediaries to get a judge to decide to hold a company liable for murder. Consumption focused industries, like fossil fuel, plastic, and monoculture companies, are directly resulting in millions of human deaths. Beyond this, their global exploitation has lead to millions of animals, plants, and microorganism populations’ reduced to fractions of their original contribution to our ecosystem. the only people that seem to hold any power of control over these companies are national level policy makers. It seems like many of the senate and representative groups are tied up in many countries. I’m not sure why, but thats what i’m seeing. so this leaves the judges. how can we push them to do the right thing? Does it require lawyers to squeeze a ruling that will help things change? how can we get the law to face the climate emergency? they may be the only ones that can get us out of this siege.
