We have a spot by us thatās been here for something like 75 years. They have a dish on the menu called āmeatball saladā that is better than it sounds. The walls are wood paneled. We come here every few weeks to dish with our favorite bartenderāshe lives on our blockāabout all the hot new neighborhood gossip. Theyāre filming āThe Bearā on our block and thereās absolutely no parking. Weāre all inconvenienced, letās dish! She makes a great club soda with lime and my husband always asks what the specials are from the kitchen. Itās cash only. Chicago, we love you because youāre made up of dives like this, dotting corners in every neighborhood of this town.

The Silver Slipper wine bar has actually changed my life. I am in there so much that most if not all of the staff know me. They are the sweetest people and make the best food and drinks this side of the Ohio River. Life has never felt better than when I am two drinks deep having a cigarette on their back porch.

finally tried redheaded stranger bc my partner loves itā¦. HOLY SHIT! this place was sooooo good! they make their tortillas homemade and i would come eat the tortillas by themselves tbh. the only pic i have is of the queso bc my bestie maryyclark is particular about her queso but i knew she would love this one bc it had a lil spice. Yummmmmm
