🏄‍♂️
I discovered Surf’s Up by The Beach Boys yesterday. My favorite song is A Day in the Life of a Tree. It doesn't even feel like The Beach Boys, it has a very diverse sound and was made to both rethink the approach of their music and address political and environmental issues that they deemed important to address. It’s very chilling to hear The Beach Boys, who are most known for telling me to go surfing with them, telling me “Don’t go in the water”

it's a beautiful mix of sadness and hopefulness that I've loved since I heard it for the first time as a kid

sharing my favorite beach boys albums today to spread their music to yall after Brian's passing and starting with Pet Sounds, which is probably their most well known album. one of the greatest albums ever made, and very ahead of its time. despite how popular it is now, it was not well received in the US, as it was deemed “weird” by a lot of people. my favorites from the album are “God Only Knows”, “I Just Wasn't Made For These Times”, and “Caroline, No”

listened to it the most over the year. Wonderful sentimental song. Lovely.

Usually spell it “ecstacy” not too severely wrong but still enough for Spotify to yell at me whenever I’m trying to listen to Ennio Morricone’s Ecstasy of Gold from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Didn’t have it much as a kid, but I’ve rediscovered it. It doesn’t matter what’s in it. It’s meat, and it’s neat.
