when i was 13 the shitty dark shadows film adaptation was released and it was literally awful (i watched the soap opera dark shadows a lot as a kid and loved it) but i was obsessed with barnabas in it and i would listen to she will be loved by maroon 5 and imagine him watching me through my window and it would literally make me cry. it all started with my friend making me watch my life with the walter boys and then coercing me into watching to all the boys i’ve loved before AND THEN KISSING BOOTH. don’t get me wrong i hated every second of it but i couldn’t stop. and last night. I watched love simon for the first time… why did that movie get so much hype…

I’m sure you’ve seen it, but if it’s been awhile (it had been for me) I recommend a re-watch. My mom‘s husband had been politicking for its election as our annual x-mas watch for years and I was finally out-voted in its favor this year; I can admit I was wrong. I was near to sobbing by the end and its old-timey-ness did not detract from the incredible writing, pacing, and understanding of the human condition, rendering it - actually - time*less*.
